Earth Electra

Part Three

The Electra Cave the next day

Electra Woman studied the video the Electra Mobile's video camera had shot. The strangers that had entered Metro City were trouble, she could feel it. The one who had called himself "GlitterRock" she was especially interested in. She turned to find an elderly gentleman standing behind her.

"Frank," she said "I didn't hear you come in."

"Forgive me for startling you, Electra Woman," Frank Heflin replied "But, you have a meeting at Newsmaker Magazine in an hour. Or perhaps I should say, Laurie has the meeting."

Electra Woman smiled, "Of course, Frank. Thank you for reminding me. Where's Dyna Girl?"

"She's already at the office, as Judy. I'll keep the CrimeScope on and monitor things while you are at your meeting."

Electra Woman punched a few buttons on the Electracomputer and a paper came out of the printer. She handed the paper to Frank.

"Activate a few of the Electra Drones." She said "I want them to find and capture this person."

    "Of course, Electra Woman."

Frank looked at the paper. He studied the image for a second. "Who is he?"

"He calls himself GlitterRock. I want to know the connection between him and my old enemy. And I want to know if he knows where the original GlitterRock and the others are hiding."

"So, the Electra Drones are not to kill him?"

"Not yet." Electra Woman said with a wicked smile

The Secret Lair

The Cappers and the villains were studying a map. Animebabe pointed to a section of the map.

"That's where our cruiser landed." she said "It's of alien design. I'm not sure where we can get the parts we need."

The Jester, old villain of the slain superhero BlueJay, spoke up, "In Metro City Prison there's someone who can help you with that. He's a former assistant of a mad scientist."

The Sorcerer frowned as he looked at the map, "Fine, but what about the immediate problem? You're not going to be able to get him out of prison to help, not while there's Electra Woman and Dyna Girl around."

"He's right." Lanzman said, "I mean, these two have been pushed over the edge completely. We're talking Psycho Hose Beasts from the Seventh Level of Hell, here."

BatQueen looked at Lanz, "Where have I heard that before?"

"Gray Zombie was describing this one girl he was dating a few years back. Very well developed in the chest area though."

Animebabe looked around the room, "So, what are we gonna do?"

"I'd ask your friend Gray Zombie if he still had her phone number." The Jester suggested

Animebabe looked at The Jester for a second then said, "Ok, let me ask it this way. What are we going to do about getting our cruiser fixed and about this problem with Electra Woman and Dyna Girl?"

The Capper GlitterRock raised his hand, all attention turned towards him.

"First thing you have to know," He started "is who exactly Electra Woman and Dyna Girl really are."

Cleopatra asked, "You know who they are?"

Glitter nodded, "Well, back in the 70's they were reporters for Newsmaker Magazine. Laurie, who was Electra Woman, and Judy, who was Dyna Girl. Their base was hidden in the home of Laurie and they were helped by a man named Frank Heflin."

Empress of Evil thought for a moment, then snapped her fingers. "The publisher of Newsmaker Magazine is named Laurie and the editor is named Judy. And I know the home that you are talking about, but it's been deserted, they both live in penthouses here in Metro City."

SpydieGirl looked at Animebabe, "I bet you that the base is still being used, though."

"Ok," Animebabe said "then this is what we're going to do. Lanzman, you come with me. We're going to the prison to see this person for help. The rest of you, see what you can find out about the base of Electra Woman. Maybe we can find something there that will help us, and free Metro City from this grip they have."

The Pharaoh stepped forward, "We're helping you. If that's ok."

Animebabe smiled, "That's more than ok. Besides, we have NO idea where we're going."

Metro City Prison

The guards at Metro City Prison were always on the lookout for someone breaking out. Fortunately, Animebabe, Lanzman, The Jester, and Empress of Evil were breaking in. The Empress had several tricks of the Sorcerers to help them, including sleeping dust. The guards were snoozing while they snuck into the maximum security section.

The Jester pointed to one cell, "There. Hugo is in there."

Animebabe looked into the cell and saw a little man (she was never sure what the politically correct term was, dwarf, midget, little person). He was old, almost in his 90s. He looked over at the group.

"Jester?" he asked "Is that you?"

The Jester nodded, then he turned to the Cappers, "This is Hugo, he was an assistant to a mad scientist, Dr. Shrinker. Shrinker died, but Hugo was caught and placed in prison to pay for the crimes that Shrinker had committed."

"Yea," Hugo said, "I'm a victim of circumstance. Let me out. Please. I'm supposed to fry next week. I hear they're making an electric chair my size."

"Hey, don't worry." Lanzman said, "I'll get you out, or my name isn't The Mighty Lanzman."

"Wow, I'm excited." Hugo said, dripping with sarcasm.

Animebabe reached into her backpack and pulled out her laser rifle. She fired at the cell door. The door fell in several pieces. Hugo stepped out.

"Hooray," Hugo yelled, jumping up and down, "I'm a free man. I'm walking tall, I'm....Hey, I just made a bad pun, didn't I?"

"Big time." Lanz said, before getting punched by Anime.

Empress of Evil knelt down and looked at Hugo. "Hugo, our friends here need help in getting their dimensional cruiser working, so they can go back home. Can you help."

"Dimensional Cruiser?" Hugo asked, then he looked up at Animebabe "Does it have a dual stabilizer for the shifting between dimensions?"

    Animebabe nodded "Four by Eight."

Hugo gave a big smile, "Well, I thought it was going to be something difficult. Of course, I can help."

Lanzman smiled, which disappeared quickly, "This is getting too easy. That bothers me."

Newsmaker Magazine Building

Laurie sat in Judy's office. The meeting went better than planned. Now the two were privately discussing the current problem about the strangers.

"I say we blow the scumbags up." Judy suggested

"Something about them being here bothers me." explained Laurie "I mean, I've got this funny feeling that there are more of them somewhere."

"Oh yea, sure Laurie, like they have this base that exists between realities and there's like 300 or so of them. I bet they all have nicknames too. Like The Black Zombie?"

Laurie smiled, "You're right. That does sound stupid, doesn't it?"

"In the meantime, it seems that Great Britain is making another attempt at interfering with us. He's gone as far as having Wonder Bug try and defeat one of our Electra Drones."

Laurie laughed, "Did the Drones destroy that meddlesome dune buggy?"

"No, but he learned the hard way not to mess with the Electrifying Duo."

Laurie looked out the window at Metro City, "I had told Frank that if the Drones found that younger GlitterRock, that he was to hold him. But I think that we need to send a message to anyone wanting to interfere."

Judy had an evil grin, "Like I said, we blow the scumbags up."

"You know I prefer electrocution. I get a kick out of watching them squirm like they do."

Judy shrugged, "Hey, whatever trips your trigger."

The secret lair

The elder GlitterRock walked out of the dressing room. He was in his old costume, complete with a green afro wig. The others told him to stay put, he was ill after all. GlitterRock knew very well that he was ill, and unlike his comrades, he knew what his illness was. He looked in the mirror, then placed his star shaped shades on.

"Who said Disco's dead?" He asked the reflection "Cats and kittens, GlitterRock's back."

After a couple of coughs and a wheeze, the elder GlitterRock walked out of the lair. If he was to go down, he was going down fighting.

The old house.

The Capper GlitterRock, Sideman, SpydieGirl, BatQueen, Sorcerer, Pharaoh, and Cleopatra walked through the old house. At one time, Laurie and Judy had kept the house spotless. But now, it was in ruins. GlitterRock looked out the side door at the terrace, beyond that, was an unmarked grave.

    "Weird." he thought out loud

SpydieGirl looked at the grave, "Who do you think is buried there?"

GlitterRock shrugged and continued searching. Thanks to the Sorcerer's tricks, they found the entrance to the secret lair of Electra Woman and Dyna Girl.

"A shame we couldn't find this years ago." Cleopatra said, "We would of saved us a lot of pain and suffering if we had."

"Hopefully, with our new friends," Pharaoh said, "we can look for a bright future."

Sideman looked down into the entrance, "Boss, you think it's safe?"

    "I'm not sure." GlitterRock replied

SpydieGirl pushed GlitterRock into the entrance, he stumbled but regained his footing.

    "The hell was that for?"

"Are you waiting for an engraved invitation?" SpydieGirl asked

"Yea," BatQueen agreed "I mean, it's almost sundown, if they are still using this base of theirs, we better get in and out fast."

Sideman nodded, "I'm with them, boss."

Sorcerer smiled at GlitterRock, "They do have a point, dear friend."

GlitterRock smiled at the group, "Very well. Let's go, deep into the bowels of.....where ever we're going...."

The passage leading to the base was dark, save for the magic light provided by The Sorcerer. Soon, they were standing in the Electra Cave. The Electra Mobile was in it's parking spot. GlitterRock recognized the CrimeScope. They continued walking into the lair, but suddenly stopped by what sounded like a metallic foot stepping down.

Without turning, GlitterRock asked, "Bats, are you wearing steel shoes?"

Also without turning, BatQueen responded, "Nope."

Slowly, the group turned and saw that the sound came from an Electra Drone that blocked their way out of the lair. SpydieGirl grabbed her backpack to pull out their weapons, but a beam came from the shadows and hit her. She fell to the ground, unconscious.

Several more Drones came out, the villains tried to make their escape, but the Drones captured them. The Cappers were more of a challenge, unfortunately, they weren't leaving without their fallen comrade. Just as Sideman went to pick SpydieGirl up, he was captured by a Drone. BatQueen was caught just as she made a grab for the backpack. Two Drones grabbed each of GlitterRock's arms, and picked him up. Frank came out from the shadows.

"Very good," he told the Drones. He then pulled out a communicator and turned it on, after a second of static, he spoke into it. "Electra Woman, this is Frank. The Drones have captured a few of the trouble causing people, including the one whom you asked us to capture."

"Very good, Frank" came the reply over the communicator "Bring them to Metro City Park. It's time to make examples for the rest of them."

To Be Continued
